The Future Of Call Of Duty In Treyarch's Hands

After the game design director for Treyarch, David Vonderhaar was asked if he would ever consider making a call of duty that was aimed more towards the future he confidently said yes after thinking…..now after being asked what is so different between Treyarch, and Infinty Ward. That’s when he started sweating during his interview. At first he was very speech less and seemed like he had no idea what was going on. Now personally I have no problems with him but the game play for treyarchs verison just sucked it was a disgrace to the call of duty name…now I still play the game its good but it could have been 1000 times better and for the time span that they had to play they could have done better. With enough said about my opinion, now when he was asked what the difference between the two, he said the way that they both basically present the game…now that does not take a rocket scientist to give you that answer. And for him to want to do a game that is more near future and not so far future….now that would be a good idea since black ops was aimed around the 60's I would love to play a game that has all the weapons that were using in our army today….oh wait modern warfare 2 ?

Sony Cuts PSP prices to make way for NGP
9qUECCA3qMA

Sony today sent word that it was dropping the price of the PSP to $130. The cut to the Core Pack brings it down from $170 and will be accompanied by a similar price slash on Entertainment Pack bundles, which will drop from $200 to $160. Both drops take effect February 27 and will come in tandem with a TV spot (below) driving the point home and taking a dig at iPhone gaming.

"Thank you, Sony, for making real games for real gamers," a teen says in an ad full of similarly young players.

Hands On With Sony's NGP PSP2

The device codenamed Next Generation Portable (abbreviated as NGP) commonly referred to as the PSP2, is an upcoming handheld console developed by Sony Computer Entertainment as the successor to the PlayStation Portable as part of the PlayStation family of gaming devices. The device is due for initial release during the fourth quarter of 2011.

The device includes dual analog sticks, 5 inch OLED capacitive touchscreen3GBluetooth, and Wi-Fi support. Internally, the device features a 4 core ARM Cortex-A9 core processor and a SGX543MP4+ graphics processing unit as well as LiveArea as its main user interface, which succeeds the XrossMediaBar for the PlayStation Portable.

Hardware

The device features a "super oval"-shape similar to the design of the original PlayStation Portable, with a 5 inch OLED capacitivetouchscreen in the centre of the device. The device features two analogue sticks, a D-pad, a set of standard PlayStation face buttons (TriangleCircleCross and Square), two shoulder buttons (L and R), a PlayStation button as well as Start and Select buttons. Internally, the device features a 4 core ARM Cortex-A9 core processor, a SGX543MP4+ graphics processing unit. The device also features a rear touchpad, a front camera, a rear camera, stereo speakers, microphone, Sixaxis motion sensing system (three-axis gyroscope, three-axis accelerometer), three-axis electronic compass, built-in GPS as well as Wi-Fi, 3G, and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR connectivity.

Software

Unlike the PSP and PlayStation 3, the NGP does not use the XrossMediaBar interface. Instead it uses a touchscreen-based UI dubbed LiveArea, which includes various social networking features via the PlayStation Network.

Several games have been announced for the device, including Uncharted: PortableHustle Kings,Hot Shots Golf Next as well as new iterations of KillzoneWipeoutResistanceLittleBigPlanet, and Call of Duty. In addition, several third-party studios showcased technology demos of the device by exporting existing assets from their PlayStation 3 counterpart and then rendering them on the device. Some of the games that were demonstrated include Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the PatriotsYakuza Of the End and Lost Planet 2Monster Hunter Portable 3rd was also demonstrated to be running on the device to showcase the device's backwards compatibility with downloadable PlayStation Portable titles, which was also shown to be compatible with the NGP's additional analogue stick. Games will also be distributed in a new proprietary flash storage format rather than the original PlayStation Portable's Universal Media Disc format. Unlike the first PSP, the NGP will come withTrophy support for games.

The device will also support backwards compatible PlayStation Portable downloadable titles, PlayStation minisPSOne Classics, videos and comics from the PlayStation Store.

Court Orders Ps3 Hackers To Hand Over Computers

A California court has granted Sony's Motion for a Temporary Restraining Order and Order of Impoundment against George Hotz, the renowned hacker that helped breach the PlayStation 3's security earlier this month.

The court also ordered that Hotz must preserve and not destroy computer files, documents, and hard drives containing hacking software. He also must turn over any computers, hard drives, CDs and other storage devices that contain circumvention software in the next 10 business days.
